Salary: £36,899 - £47,590 per annumJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse for the Private Wing within our Hospital Services. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary expertise to supervise and engage in the professional development of nursing staff while providing exemplary patient care.Summary of Practice Area:The Private Wing offers 19 single en suite rooms, catering to surgical, medical, oncology, and end-of-life care needs. Our team collaborates closely with various specialists and embraces interprofessional working. New staff receive mentorship and support to enhance their skills and knowledge, making it an inclusive environment for both new and experienced nurses.Key responsibilities include:
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care programs.
- Adherence to ward philosophy and established procedures.
- Supervision of nursing staff and coordination of ward activities.
- Acting as a clinical supervisor and preceptor to support skill development.
- Assisting new staff through orientation and induction programs.
- Adherence to ward philosophy and nursing model principles.
- Management of patient care within competence level.
- Supervision of newly qualified and unqualified staff.
- Effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Compliance with professional conduct and scope of practice guidelines.
- Implementation of nursing procedures according to established standards.
- Providing direction and facilitating competency programs for junior staff.
- Supporting staff in achieving learning objectives.
- Continuous development of own skills and promotion of evidence-based practice.
- Supervision of patient care and referral when necessary.
- Participation in clinical supervision sessions.
- Setting professional development targets through formal appraisals.
- Providing support to team members and acting as Team Leader when required.

- Ensuring patient, staff, and personal safety in accordance with regulations.
- Reporting incidents and adhering to safety procedures.
- Safely handling equipment and following infection control measures.
- Participating in mandatory training sessions.
- Maintaining effective registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
- Proactively managing revalidation requirements.
- Assisting colleagues with relevant aspects of revalidation.
- Current first-level registration with the NMC.
- Completion of an approved mentor course.
- Competence in intravenous drug administration.
- Portfolio meeting KSF criteria.
- Experience coordinating ward activities and delegation.
