Salary: £36,899 - £47,590 per annumJob Summary:We are seeking a dynamic Staff Nurse to join our team within the Day Patient Unit. As a member of the nursing and multi-professional team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and maintaining a safe environment. This position offers developmental opportunities, allowing you to expand your skills in areas such as minor operations/procedures and endoscopy, alongside contributing to service improvement initiatives.Area Summary:The Day Patient Unit comprises a 19-bed ward area, with additional seating for ambulatory patients, a minor operation/procedure room, a two-bed post-anesthetic recovery unit, and an Endoscopy Suite. Our unit caters to various surgical, endoscopy, dental, interventional radiological, and diagnostic procedures.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Clinical Practice:
- Adherence to professional standards and safe clinical care practices.
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Accurate documentation and communication of patient information.
- Provision of evidence-based health education to patients and their families.
- Respect for diversity and promotion of non-discriminatory care.
- Continuous professional development and participation in audits and service development.
- Maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
- Adherence to infection control policies and direction of junior staff.
- Support for team members and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Maintenance of records and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotion of Care Values Framework and cost-effective resource utilisation.
- Contribution to risk management and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Clear and detailed verbal handovers and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Attendance at meetings and dissemination of relevant information.
- Adherence to data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Commitment to professional development and annual training requirements.
- Orientation and support for new and junior staff.
- Understanding of research and evidence-based practice.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations and reporting of issues.
- Immediate reporting of accidents/incidents and adherence to incident reporting procedures.
- Maintenance of effective registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Proactive management of revalidation requirements.
- Support for colleagues in revalidation processes.
- Registered Nurse (NMC).
