With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.Role/ Department:As a key member of the credit team, this role is to support the Head of Credit Services in Guernsey to ensure business and personal goals are achieved / exceeded.This is a varied and at times challenging position, making a positive and forward looking contribution to the strategic direction and growth of Credit Services globally, by delivering high quality structured credit accommodations within the framework of Northern Trust’s Corporate Credit Policy and risk appetite to the wide range of Northern Trust’s clients.The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Maintain the provision of high quality Credit Services to existing clients.
  • Working closely with the Relationship Management teams, actively participate in growing the credit portfolio.
  • Attend and actively participate in client calls and visits to discuss opportunities and develop and deepen client relationships.
  • Maintain an awareness of terms and conditions for all credit facilities, escalating breaches as appropriate.
  • In conjunction with internal and/or external legal, prepare, review credit and security documentation ensuring that it reflects the client’s requirements, the terms of approval as well as adhering to current procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Deliver high quality communications both internally including Credit Committee presentations and externally with clients.
  • Apply a risk management mind-set to control and reduce risk/exposure, where appropriate.
  • Prepare and present new credit applications and renewals to internal credit committees.
  • Proactive awareness of current market conditions and the potential impact changing conditions may have on our credit book.
  • Knowledge sharing within the Credit Team and to create and maintain strong working relationships with Northern Trust Partners, particularly Relationship Managers as well as clients.
Skills/ Qualifications:The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with a wide range of client types and providing a high quality of customer service.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, show good attention to detail and have a flexibility and willingness to complete certain client requests within tight deadlines.
  • Analytical approach and the ability to produce and deliver clear and concise written and verbal updates.
  • Experience in structuring credit facilities, assessing borrower risk, and negotiating legal documents is desirable but on the job training will be provided.
  • High level computer literacy.
