• Provide pain management to patients with acute, sub-acute and chronic pain conditions
• Work with the nurse consultant to ensure that patients with both acute and chronic /complex pain needs receive the appropriate evidence-based interventions and education they require
• Ensure that the service evolves in line with local and national guidance
• Lead in the provision of specialist knowledge and education in the field of acute/chronic, persistent pain management
• Work independently / interdependently within the scope of professional practice in the specialty of acute and chronic pain/persistent pain in both inpatient and out patent settings. This includes guiding the practice of pain management through education, support and supervision of staff
• Clinically assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care, providing specialist advice and actively seeking evidence-based practice which will improve the quality of care and meet the needs of a group of patients
