Salary: £36,899 - £47,590 per annumJob Summary:We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our team in a surgical setting. In this role, you will supervise and contribute to the professional development of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established procedures and policies while assisting new team members in achieving competency.As a role model, you will:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care programs.
- Follow the current ward philosophy in delivering care.
- Adhere to Health and Social Services Policy Folders.
- Act as a ward co-ordinator under the direction of the nurse in charge.
- Supervise nursing staff regularly.
- Mentor and provide clinical supervision to junior nurses and nursing auxiliaries.
- Assist in the orientation and induction of new staff through formalised appraisal and performance reviews.
- Understand and adhere to the ward's philosophy.
- Work towards meeting the agreed aims and objectives of the ward.
- Implement the theory and principles of the nursing model.
- Manage the total care of assigned patients within your competence.
- Supervise newly qualified and unqualified staff.
- Ensure effective communication within the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain standards for nursing care.
- Adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct.
- Comply with the locally agreed framework for professional practice.
- Act as a named assessor to facilitate competency programs.
- Provide support to nursing staff in achieving learning objectives.
- Maintain and develop own skills.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to patients.
- Refer to more experienced nurses when necessary.
- Participate in clinical supervision.
